No-Dig Drain Inspections Manchester
How does no dig technology work?
No dig technology offers a modern approach to drain repair that allows us to fix pipes without the need for digging up your property.
Instead of excavating and replacing damaged sections of your drains, we use a CCTV drain camera to inspect the inside of the pipe. This allows us to pinpoint and assess any blockages or damage to your drains.
Depending on what our engineers find during the CCTV drain survey, we may then use one of several different drain repair techniques, all of which come under the umbrella term of ‘no-dig technology’. These are:
Drain Lining
One of the most popular applications of no-dig technology is drain lining.
Once we’ve identified the location and scale of the damage, we use a specialised machine to insert a flexible liner into the drain. This liner is made of a tough, durable material that is able to withstand the pressure and flow of wastewater.
After ensuring that the liner is securely in place, we inflate it using compressed air. This causes it to expand and fit snugly against the inside of the existing pipe.
Finally, we use a UV light to cure the liner, which hardens and effectively creates a new pipe within the old one.
Drain lining is particularly useful for repairing small cracks or holes in pipes, or for reinforcing weak spots.

Pipe Bursting
Another technique that utilises no-dig technology is pipe bursting.
This involves pulling a new pipe through the old, damaged pipe, effectively bursting the old pipe, and replacing it with a new one.
This method is particularly useful for replacing larger sections of pipe or for installing new pipes.
Like pipe lining, pipe bursting requires minimal drain excavation work and can be completed quickly and cost-effectively.

Directional Drilling
Here, we drill a small hole at one end of the damaged pipe, then use a drilling machine to create a new pipe.
Directional drilling is useful for installing new pipes or repairing existing ones, particularly in areas where excavation would be difficult or impossible.
This method is particularly useful for installing pipes under roads, buildings, or other obstacles.

Robotic Cutting
Robotic cutting is a method of removing obstructions from pipes without drain excavation.
This technique involves using a robot with a cutting tool to remove tree roots, debris, or other blockages from pipes. Robotic cutting is particularly useful for pipes that are difficult to access, such as those located beneath buildings or in hard-to-reach areas.

What are the benefits of no dig technology?
No dig technology offers a number of benefits over traditional drain repair methods.
For one, it’s much less invasive, which means we don’t have to dig up your property to access the damaged pipe. This can save you a lot of time, money, and hassle in the long run.
Additionally, because no dig technology is so precise, we’re able to repair pipes with a high degree of accuracy. This means that we can fix the problem without damaging any surrounding pipes or structures.
We’re so confident in our work here at Clear Drains that we offer a 10 year guarantee on all no dig technology drain repairs.

How much does a no dig drain repair cost?
The cost of a no dig drain repair will depend on a number of factors, including the location and severity of the damage, the size of the pipe, and the techniques required.
That being said, no dig technology is generally a more cost-effective solution than traditional drain repair methods. This is because it requires less time and labour, and there’s no need to excavate the area around the damaged pipe.
Our no dig drain repairs start at just £200. However, to get an accurate quote for your specific situation, it’s best to get in touch with our team to schedule a free consultation.
Is no dig technology right for me?
No dig technology is a great option for anyone who wants to avoid the mess and inconvenience of traditional drain repair methods. It’s also a sensible choice for those who have landscaping or other structures that would be difficult or expensive to remove in order to access the damaged pipe.
However, no dig technology may not be the best option for every situation. For example, if the damage to your pipe is too severe, it may be necessary to excavate and replace the damaged section.
