CCTV Investigation & Drain Patching Due To Rodents

Broken Drains Lead To Rodents

We recently received a call from a customer who was having a problem with rodents in her home. She had tried everything she could think of to get rid of them, but nothing had worked. She was at her wit’s end and didn’t know what else to do.

We sent one of our technicians out to her home to assess the situation. After a thorough inspection using a remote CCTV survey , we determined that the rodents were getting into her home through an old kitchen waste gully (KWG). The KWG had been abandoned, but the customer had built an extension over it. This created a perfect entry point for the rodents.

We sealed up the external entry points and then installed a 1m x 100mm patch liner over the junction. This effectively blocked the pests from getting into the home.

The customer was very happy with the results. She was finally able to get rid of the rodent problem and live in peace.

Here are some additional tips on how to prevent rodents from entering your home:

  • Keep your home clean and free of clutter. Rats and Mice are attracted to food and nesting materials.
  • Seal up any cracks or holes in your home’s foundation, walls, and roof. Rodents can squeeze through very small openings.
  • Install weatherstripping around doors and windows. This will help to keep rodents out.
  • Store food in sealed containers. This will prevent rodents from getting to it.
  • Keep pet food and water bowls clean and covered. This will also help to prevent rodents from getting to it.
  • If you see a rodent, don’t try to catch it yourself. Contact a pest control professional.
